It's a wonder, exquisite. I always think of it as a very unknown building. In Granada, publicity always mention the Alhambra (and it's ok), but they should also mention this. There are even people who had lived and were born there that didn't know of the place.
Exactly! That is always what I think when I enter these places. And even the photos doesn't do it justice. It's mesmerising.
In fact, Saint Thomas of Aquinas tried to burn everything he wrote after having some visions of Heaven, as he thought they were very pale representations of what he had seen. But those writings survived thanks to his secretary who prevented him from burning them.
I was a Secular Fransciscan (Ordo Franciscanus Saecularis), and through my formation I developed a friendly rivalry with some Dominicans. When they would cite Saint Thomas Aquinas, I would jokingly retort "Oh, you're citing the guy who thought his works were useless. Good strategy."
Hahaha! So funny. I have always being an Aquinas' fan: a 1st- rate intellect and the humility of a child.
But Saint Francis of Assisi is also a great saint: I visited his church in Assisi and they played the Pachelbel Cannon in the organ. It was a truly emotional moment.
Ouah.... I've no words Mercedes... I- you live near this? My gosh, this- this must be protected. Merci for sharing it.
No, Granada is like 650 km from Madrid.
Yes, I hope it remains as it is.
Merci pour l'apprecier, Monsieur. 😁

They were born there & did not know?!
Omgosh, the magic right before is & still unknown. That is sad. I'm so glad I was able to read & learn about it with you.
Yep. It is not in the center of the city. I went there because I like to walk through the cities and discover new places.
That is how I travel too. 💗
To think this is but a facsimile of the beauty of heaven. Stunning photos. Thank you.
